Files submitted to NORTHCLIFFE MEDIA LTD for inclusion in the newspapers must meet the following specification. If they do not then this may delay your submission.

Please ensure that you check your copy on the day of publication. NORTHCLIFFE MEDIA LTD cannot accept responsibility for errors that occur after the first insertion.

* All files transmitted to us should be in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF)
* Files should be sent to the size of the media box
* Files should be sent in without a transparent background
* Files should be sent in the form of PDF 1.3 via Adfast, and must be PDF/X-1a compliant
* Artwork should be supplied either Mono or Colour CMYK. No Pantone or spot custom colours accepted
* Fonts - All fonts MUST be embedded
* Neither custom transfer functions nor custom halftones are accepted
* Image Resolution
o Newsprint 200dpi
o Magazines 300dpi

FILE PREPERATION

* Ink weight should not exceed 245
* Reverse out white or coloured text should be no smaller than 10pt bold .
* Reversed out text should not be on a background of two or more colours
* Fine Serif Type faces should not be used
* Body text must be single colour or two colour at most, and no less than 8pt in size and also not compressed
* Line weight must not be less than 1pt
